Youth Programs

Junior Marksmanship Program 

The Harvard Sportsmen's Club invites you to learn the fundamentals of firearm safety, marksmanship, competition and sportsmanship.

Signups 5:00 - 8:00PM every Tuesday from September 15 for returnees and Sept 22 for new students.  Program ends April 13, 2027.

Eligibility: No prior shooting experience necessary, but ability to learn safety consciousness and self-control is necessary.  Minimum age and equipment limitations require Boys or Girls ages 11-18 y/o, exceptions at coach’s discretion.

Staffing: NRA certified Coaches will supervise all instruction. Practice times assigned after initial training. Relays: A 4:00-6:00PM, B 5:00-7:00PM (upstairs air rifle range) and C 6:00-8:00PM.

Initial training will be done with air rifles, followed by .22 target rifles when the student is deemed safe and ready.

Every Tuesday  Sept 15 (returns) or 22 (new) -  April 13.

Venturing

Venturing is an inclusive program through the Boy Scouts of America for males and females aged 14-21 (or 13 and completed the 8th grade). It's operated through Venturing Crews, units of youth and advisors that meet on set schedules and plan activities and events for youth like you! HSC Crew 250 currently meets once a month on a rotating calendar, please contact Timothy bradbury <tpbradbury@verizon.net> to learn more about what we have going on.  We specialize on a wide variety of topics centered around Club Programs like Conservation, Archery, Firearms, First Aid and other topics.

The Venturing program aims to enable young adults to:

• Experience a program that is fun and full of challenge and adventure.
• Acquire skills in the area of their crew's specialty.
• Become a skilled training and program resource for other youth groups.
• Experience positive leadership from adult and youth leaders and be given opportunities to take on leadership roles.
• Learn to make ethical choices throughout their lives by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
